Porchlight Bar

Danny Meyer, the famous New York restaurateur and Chief Executive Officer of the Union Square Hospitality Group, is lending his magic touch to the world of nightlife. Together with his Blue Smoke partner Mark Maynard-Parisi, Meyer has opened Porchlight, a bar on the far west side of Chelsea with a “classy Southern vibe”.

Led by head bartender Nick Bennett, Porchlight boasts a cocktail, beer, wine, and spirits menu; a Happy Hour menu; three exciting snacks menu intended to increase in fare and fun as the night drags on; and a sweetened-up dessert menu that pays homage to a true Southern specialty. An indoor porch – complete with rocking chairs – and a game room are free for patrons looking for a little Southern hospitality to enjoy.

Noteworthy bar favorites include the whiskey and cola made with Fernet and house-made cola syrup; a sazerac made with Cognac; and a Rittenhouse Rye and Cardamaro served with a homemade orange liqueur. The bar is open Monday through Wednesday from noon until 12 a.m.; Thursday and Friday from 12 p.m. until 2 a.m.; and on Saturday from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m.
