Molé

Created to be “a boutique Mexican restaurant and taco bar” set on Picton Place, Molé is a 50-seat restaurant that serves guests modern Mexican fare alongside famous South American cuisine and cocktails. While diners may wonder what it is that sets Molé apart from London’s ever-evolving Mexican scene, more than 80 percent of Molé’s menu is gluten-free (yes, including the tacos, which they’ll make by hand from corn flour).

Cocktails at Molé derive from South American influence. They’ll make their own syrups and infused spirits, like the Paloma No, made from Jose Cuervo Traditional, hibiscus syrup, and a slash of grapefruit soda; and the Burro Mule made from Jose Cuervo traditional, arbol ginger syrup, passionfruit, lime, and soda.

Menu favorites include tacos like you’ve never seen them before: octopus served with Pico de Gallo, popcorn shoot, and Serrano chili; chipotle beef short rib, sweet potato hay, radish, and jalapeño; and Baja fish tacos, shark fillet tempura, chipotle mayo, jalapeño slaw. Principle dishes include sea bass fillets served with avocado cream; roast corn fed chicken Molé; lamb cutlets served with chimichuri; and a 15-hour braised chipotle short rib. Peruvian skewers with chicken thigh, tequila, and aji Amarillo; tiger prawns with salsa roja, lime; pork belly, tamarind glaze; and a beef strip loin served with cumin aji panca.

Molé is open Monday through Saturday from noon until 11 p.m., and on Sundays from 12 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.
