Kandolhu Island

Touted as the “best kept secret in the Maldives,” Kandolhu Island sits on lush green land surrounded by wide, sandy white beaches and crystalized surf. It’s also home to one of the world’s most pristine and lively reefs. And if you’re looking for a combination of sun and seclusion, you don’t have to look very far: The resort, made up of just 30 villas, is only reachable by seaplane.

Thirty guest rooms are available for booking in five different, distinct yet complimentary styles that blend together Maldivian architecture and modern design. There are six Jacuzzi Beach Villas located on the western shores of the island, featuring a king-sized bed, spacious open-air garden bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and shower, a veranda and a daybed dining area. Five Pool Villas, also with a king-sized bed, face the island’s blue lagoon, and come with a freestanding bath, shower and outdoor garden vanity. Larger parties should consider the eight two-story Duplex Pool Villas, located on the west side of the island, which fit up to four people and come with all the interior amenities plus an outdoor terrace, seating area and ocean views. Four Ocean Villas and seven Ocean Pool Villas are also available for rental.

There are five separate restaurant and bar options and Kandolhu offers the option to book your stay as a bed and breakfast, a la cart or all-inclusive getaway. A range of activities – diving, snorkeling, water sports and excursions off the island – will keep your days busy while the Varu Spa will keep you well-rested and rejuvenated.
