Cosme
Weaving its way into the New York restaurant scene is Cosme, the Flatiron-based restaurant that’s offering guests contemporary Mexican-inspired cuisine. Led by Chef Enrique Olvera, Cosme blends together Mexican flavors and traditions to local, fresh, and seasonal offerings from New York’s upper Hudson Valley for a one-of-a-kind experience that stuns, then pleases, the palate.
Critics and guests alike have raved about Cosme’s fresh-made tortillas, made on-site at the restaurant and boasting strains of white, yellow, purple, and blue corn grown in Mexico. Menu favorites include the uni tostada served with avocado, bone marrow salsa, and cucumber; the chicharron; a scallop aguachile, served with poached jicama, and fresh wasabi-cucumber-lime; burrata, pasilla mixe salsa, and weeds; a crispy octopus served with hazelnut mole pickled potatoes, and watercress; and shareable duck carnitas served with onions, radishes, and salsa verde.
Cosme is open Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 until 11 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturday evenings from 5:30 p.m. until midnight. A full cocktail menu and brunch menu are also available.
