Ten Years of Monster Children

Founded in 2003 in Sydney, Australia, Monster Children revolutionized standard magazine publication providing an alternative to the world’s sports market; moving beyond surf and skate and branching into the collective worlds of photography, music and design. Now, in its 10th a commemorative 300-page hardcover digest to retell its story of inception and success.

More than just a pat on the back for 10 years well done, cofounders Chris Searl and Campbell Milligan have since set a new standard for magazines by placing artists and photographers side-by-side with surfers and skaters on its pages.

The book highlights the best of Monster Children’s photography, art and stories, with candid interviews captured with contributors. They’ve even marked the occasion by sitting down with the individuals responsible for the magazines climb to its tenth birthday — Mike Mills, Mark Gonzales, Ed Templeton, Stephanie Gilmore and more – to put a pointer on just what has made Monster Children the triumph that it is.
