European Ski Chalets
Some book hotels for a ski weekend. Others rent out cottages and cabins. The only way to plan a getaway to your favorite mountain peak, according to The Gentleman’s Journal, is to own a supreme piece of real estate just steps from the slopes. The Journal also adds that there’s no time like the present to make an offer on these five stunning winter-wonderland escapes.
On the top of their list, Journal features Courchevel in France. The chalet offers “immediate ski in, ski out access to Courchevel’s slopes.” The property also boasts 13 parking bays, a pool and mountain views. But it isn’t the only recommendation hailing from Courchevel. Another chalet — this one with eight en-suite bedrooms on six floors with a pool, spa, sauna, massage room, gym and cinema and game room — was made for family getaways.
Also in France, Journal recommends Chalet Cocon, Megève. The property is rustic, but inside, the features are as modern as ever. In Val d’Isere, a freshly-built holiday home blends the contemporary to the classic, with a home that’s comfortable and cozy without skimping on modern accouterments.
In Verbier, Switzerland, The Sonalon is situated miles up. The interior was designed by a London-based interior designer and features a grand salon, stone fireplace, cinema room and spa. It’s beautiful exterior is a celebration of local architecture and repurposed wood.
