Blade, a startup created by former Sony and Warner Music Group exec Rob Wiesenthal and GroupMe cofounder Steve Martocci, is hoping to be the Uber or Lyft of aviation. Through it’s app, Blade crowdsources flights on choppers and Seaplanes that users can book instantaneously.

Blade started with flights to just the Hamptons, which remains its most popular destination, but has since expanded it’s destinations to numerous popular weekend getaways such as Nantucket, New Jersey Shore, Miami, New York, and different parts of Los Angeles.

Blade also offers airport transfers and other shorter flights for $125 through a service they’re calling Blade Bounce. The slogan says it all “5 minutes in the air and you are there”.
