The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo
At the Mandarin Oriental spa, each appointment begins with a Japanese foot ritual that symbolically washes away the material world. Then, a one-on-one consultation with a personal therapist provides guests with an in-depth look at the recommended treatments that the Spa offers, mixing Asian and Western-inspired principles in an effort to tailor their treatments to best suit the needs of their guests.
The facilities offer four individual treatment rooms, five VIP spa suites with their own private facilities, separated male and female water and heat experiences, such as the vitality pool, sky-view sauna, rain showers and amethyst crystal steam room, as well as separate relaxation lounges.
The Mandarin offers a variety of treatments, ranging from their Signature Treatments and Facial Treatments to their Journeys and Taster procedures. A separate spa boutique offers guests with takeaways to continue the delights of their Spa experiences at home. There’s even a fitness and wellness center that offers Pilates, swimming and jogging classes.
