The New Annabel’s

One of the most elegant, glamorous and iconic clubs in the world has after a highly anticipated wait finally opened its doors once again to its exclusive members!

Annabels is the oldest members club in London, founded in 1963 by Mark Birley and named after his wife Lady Annabel Vane Tempest-Stuart. The Berkley square basement has since become a London institution.

Today after forgoing a £55 million renovation, Annabel’s has moved two doors down into a grand Georgian Townhouse. Still ever so beautiful and elegant, the “new Annabels” as it has been labelled by its members offers an “all day, all night” experience boasting a collection of 4 restaurants, 7 bars, a cigar salon, and workspace spread over 4 floors with a nightclub in the basement. The club also has an outdoor terrace, covered in glass to offer year-round dining experience.

Members have also experienced some pleasantly surprising changes and unique services. “The new Annabel’s” is now dog-friendly, with walkers on hand. Ice Carvers have been hired to specifically carve differently shaped cubes for their extensive cocktail list. The downstairs basement which houses the club now has a stage for performances. There will also be bespoke Annabel slides available to change into to help sore feet and the ladies bathrooms will be complete with a makeup station and seamstress on hand for any attire emergency. All in all, they have thought of everything.

Annabels has in the past welcomed the likes of the Queen, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Diana and The Rolling Stones and with all of these new twists and changes, we are very curious to see who will step through the doors next.

The current Annabel’s membership stands at 7,000 and only 78 surviving founders are guaranteed to be able to join the new club. However, the members club is trying to lower the age profile of the members, under 27s can subscribe annually for £1,000. Membership is strictly by invitation only.
