At the helm of The General’s list of culinary perfections sits Executive Chef Hung Huynh, winner of Top Chef Season 3. The busy destination serves up modern Asian cuisine seven days a week, with favorites including a salmon belly Carpaccio, Mongolian Lamb off the Robata grill, Chinese Chicken Tacos, Salt Stone Grilled Shrimp, the Cantonese Lobster and the Crisp specialty roll.

A 300-seat dining room also features an acclaimed Jazz Room, where guests can take in the sounds of a live jazz experience. An outside café-like setting greets guests in the spring and summer time.

The East Village eatery, located at 199 Bowery, is outfitted ceiling-to-seat in an eclectic, contemporary design with a diner-like spread. The General is the perfect fusion of new and old – of what’s worked in the past and what’s inspiring for the future.

Reservations can be made online or through telephone – and best of all, The General never takes a day off. They’re open Mondays from 5:30 to 10 pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:30 until 11:30 pm, Thursdays through Saturdays from 5:30 until 12:30 am and on Sundays from 5:30 until 10 pm.
