The American Bar at the Savoy

Since The Savoy’s restoration the American Bar has become hugely popular destination for the best cocktails in town. The venue has picked up numerous awards including most recently it’s highest accolade to date of “Best Bar” from The Worlds 50 Best Bar Awards.

In 1904 after moving to its present location on the Strand Block of The Savoy the bar hired it’s first ‘famous’ bartender, a lady named Ada “Coley” Coleman, whose signature cocktail the “Hanky Panky” is still a popular choice on the menu today.

This recipe along with many more made there way into the legendary Savoy Cocktail book. Still regarded today as the bartender’s bible the book is a coast to coast journey across Britain taking inspiration from each individual place and creating a cocktail to fit.

Beyond the famous cocktails the American Bar also serves a selection of Oysters and Caviar as well as an assortment of British Charcuterie and Cheeses.
