Restaurant Ours

Opened to the public in March of 2016, Tom Story, the brains behind the indubitably successful Restaurant Story, opened up Ours, a European- and British-inspired 120-seat restaurant serving seasonal fare. With a kitchen helmed by Daniel Phippard — the former Executive Chef of Ernik in Moscow and Kensington Place in London — Ours will feature unpretentious, effortless, and elegant modern European dishes with a hint of retro flair, accessorized by delicious seasonal cocktails. The idea behind Ours is, quite literally, in it’s name: It’s something Story believes is ours, a dining experience for everyone, unadulterated by pomp and circumstance.

According to Hot-Dinners.com, the restaurant, tucked between Belgravia and Chelsea, features a large and dramatic open interior space punctuated by enormous trees and sky-high ceilings. And peek into the menu does very little to disappoint: kale with aged goat’s cheese and shallots; quinoa with celeriac and smoked egg emulsion; veal chop with girolles, black truffle, and Madeira sauce; aged rib of Galician beef with marrow and morels; oysters with a mignonette garnish. In a review by Vogue, the magazine wrote that the “drama doesn’t end with this place,” and it couldn’t be more true: exposed brick can be found throughout, a stunning central bar, and tufted, velvet, and vintage chairs offer a pop of color to the 120-seat restaurant.

Reservations at Ours will take place now through August of 2016 and can either be made online or via email. Currently, Ours is open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner seatings: Monday through Thursday from 12 to 3 p.m. and then again from 6 to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 12 until 3 p.m. and from 6 to 11 p.m.; and on Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m. and later from 6 to 10 p.m.
