Navy

Navy, the second offspring from Tribeca fan-favorite Smith & Mills owners Akiva Elstein and Matthew Abramcyk, is a chic, 51-seat boutique seafood restaurant on the northern tip of Soho’s bustling neighborhood. Much like Smith & Mills, Navy’s been designed with history in mind: the owners, alongside Jeanette Dalrot, managed to capture a vintage WWII aesthetic for the cozy eatery, lining the walls in French linen fabric, khaki tents from World War II, and flags from US Navy warships; giving benches from an old bowling alley new life as booth-style seating; and folding antique train sinks into the wall.

Chef Camille Becerra is behind the tree-lined Sullivan Street spot’s menu – which serves coffee and pastries by day and raw-bar specialties by nightfall. Becerra works alongside Lancaster Farm Fresh Co-op to source local produce, which she garnishes with simple, satisfying, stellar seafood pairings. The seafood and fresh menus change daily, but standouts include the Mussel Toast, the Tuna Crudo, the Whole Trout en Croûte, the Gnocchi, the Beet and Ricotta Kataifi, Grapefruit and Celery, and the Roasted Chicken Poussin.

Navy is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and for dinner from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily. A special late-night menu is available Tuesday through Saturday from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., and to top it all off, the cozy bar stays open until 2 a.m.
