After closing for more than a year of renovations, Jason Strauss and Noah Tepperberg have reopened Marquee, the Chelsea location that changed New York nightlife and spurred the meteoric rise of their ownership group. Marquee enjoyed a decade long reign as one of the preeminent spots in New York, always noted for a tough door that led into a night of wild partying. The revamp has focused on improving the experience for the patron and visiting artists, centering on how the music is experienced throughout the space. The removal of the signature staircase increasing dancing space and improving flow, the overhauled area for performer interaction, and enhanced lighting and sound, all speak well of how the changes were conceived and undertaken. This iconic space is poised for another long run at the top.
