Le Cirque

When famed restaurateur Sirio Maccioni first opened Le Cirque’s doors 38 years ago in Midtown East on 58th Street in New York, it was to give his dinner guests a place to proudly partake in the excitement of a meal with a view. The 16,000-square foot restaurant features a whimsically decorated circus-themed dining room styled by Adam Tihany and Costas Kondylis, a seasonal prix-fixe menu and unparalleled wine selection. As if that wasn’t enough, the locale is home to an all-glass bar, balancing a 65-seat lounge and a 27-foot kaleidoscope wine tower.

Dinner favorites include the lobster salad “Le Cirque”, paupiette of black bass and a chocolate stove cake, all established in 1986, 1988 and 1988, respectively. Closed on Sundays, the eatery is open for lunch hours Monday through Friday from 11:45 am to 2:30 pm and for dinner on Monday through Saturday from 5:30 pm until 11 pm. Dress is smart casual — and dinner is one hell of an adventure.
