Blain|Southern

First opened in 2010, Blain|Southern has staked its claim as Mayfair’s freshest contemporary art gallery. Founded by its namesakes, Harry Blain and Graham Southern, the Hanover Square space celebrates a revolving list of international artists, routinely showcasing work hundreds of well-known and up-and-coming artists. Blain|Southern has since opened a sister gallery in Berlin, Germany, a testament to the success of the first English venture.

Blain|Southern hosts films, art fairs, and a gallery shop. From September through October, the work of Johanna Kirk is on exhibition. She’s one of the only contemporary artists to work solely with pastels. Her art depicts psychological landscapes rather than physical space, focusing on themes like isolation, motherhood, our complex relationship with nature, and the human condition.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
