Up for Auction: Eric Clapton’s Rare Patek Philippe

A serious watch collector is probably well aware of the major auction scheduled for November 12 in Geneva, but even a non-collector can appreciate the history and rarity of one important piece. Currently owned by music legend Eric Clapton, an incredibly rare Patek Philippe will be auctioned and is expected to command upward of four million dollars. As reported in Luxuo, the watch is a Perpetual Calendar Chronograph which was produced in miniscule numbers over 3 decades, and making Clapton’s rarer still is that it’s 1 of only 2 ever to be crafted with platinum. And don’t expect to get the other one around your wrist, it sits in the Patek Philippe museum.
