Two Similar Hirst Works, A Study In Valuation

Here’s an interesting article from Phaidon, detailing the history of two remarkably similar pieces produced by Damien Hirst in 2007 and 2008 respectively. While the production processes were indeed different, that alone doesn’t explain the wide disparity in their valuations. It’s a perfect example of just how conscious one must be of subtle nuances, in order to succeed in the modern business of art.
