The Porsche Mission E Concept

A future composed of all-electric cars hangs close for the future of automobiles, and Porsche has officially staked its claim to the plug-in throne. The luxury automobile heavyweight’s Mission E Concept proves not only can you have an all-electric car that matches the speed and ferocity of present-day rides, but you can have one that charges just as quickly, too. Still in the study phase, Uncrate reports the Porsche’s game-changing vehicle is powered by a pair of motors that produce a combined 600+ horsepower, good for a 0-62 time of under 3.5 seconds, and a world-first 800-volt drive system that allows for incredibly fast charging. How fast, you might be wondering? The Mission E charges to 80 percent (nearly 250 miles) in just 15 minutes.

Though a release date and pricing have yet to be released, the Mission E reportedly boasts all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering as well as an aluminum, steel, and carbon-fiber reinforced polymer body and design. With four doors and four single seats, the car promises to handle well. The Mission E concept debuted at the IAA in Frankfurt, Porsche’s first reveal of the first-ever electronically powered sports car.
