South Africa’s Lost City Golf Course

From the weekend hacker to scratch golfer, anyone who swings the clubs will tell you that the landscape upon which a course is built is critical to an enjoyable round. For a truly unique and slightly wild experience, it’s hard to match the visual beauty of the Lost City Golf Course in Sun City, South Africa. Designed by one of the greatest of all time, Gary Player, the course is laid out alongside an ancient volcanic crater surrounded by the vast South African wilderness. While not exceptionally lengthy, the Lost City course will bring you up close and personal with nature, right down to the 13th hole, which features a water hazard populated with Nile crocodiles. While the crocodiles are contained, you better bring an extra sleeve of balls, just in case.
