Quoddy Footwear of Maine

Hand sewn and handcrafted, the Quoddy story began in 1909 when Harry Smith Shorey resolved to beat his polio condition by venturing into the world of shoemaking. When Quoddy was born, it was based on the construction of shoemaking as a native craft and backed by local shoe suppliers, hunters and fisherman who reveled in the shoe’s unmatched durability and comfort. Nearly a century later, the workshop remains in Lewiston, Maine, while the headquarters call Perry, Maine, home. Both the men and women’s shoes are made to embody the refined, rugged style that’s made Quoddy a household name – and store locations both domestically and internationally have made the timeless moccasin a staple in the footwear industry.
