We’re big fans of the photography and advertising work by RJ Shaughnessy. At a glance some of his work could be mistaken as mundane, capturing everyday activities like crossing the street with a group of friends, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Shaughnessy’s images actually exude the wonder and emotions that are occurring around us at all times. Shaughnessy is quick to explain how photography can transform and reshape our perceptions, stating, “The realities of situations are boring, but there has to be something broken within the frame. There are always images that stand out, to me, as far as having realness to them. Those are the images I am attracted by. I don’t take too many photos of one thing.
