Not On Our Watch

Celebrities Take on Humanitarian Effort to Save and Protect Victims of Mass Brutalities

Founded by Don Cheadle, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Jerry Weintraub and David Pressman, the Not On Our Watch Project is a humanitarian-led effort to save, protect and serve displaced individuals in war-stricken areas of the world. According to their site, Not On Our Watch’s mission is to “focus global attention and resources toward bringing an end to mass atrocities around the world” by drawing on “powerful artists, activists and cultural leaders to generate lifesaving assistance and protection for the vulnerable, marginalized and displaced.”

As a federally registered 501(c)3 charity, Not On Our Watch encourages governments to take “meaningful, immediate action” when it comes to their civilians but they affirm that they’re not afraid to step up and play the protector role when the governing bodies fall short.

To date, the project has garnered national and international attention not only because of their A-list backing, but also due in part to the vocal campaigns their founders have led, sharing op-ed pieces on countries battling internal strife.
