Luxury Eyewear Aids Visually Impaired in Developing Countries

SHAUNS, a luxury high-end line of eyewear, has kick-started a philanthropic initiative to help the visually impaired in developing countries with their eyesight. The project, dubbed Give Sight, is working to lessen the impact of the 285 million people throughout the world that suffer from visual impairment by offering a one-for-one style initiative: Sponsoring a free eye test and providing corrective eyeglasses every time anyone buys a pair of the Carl Zeiss-inspired lenses from SHAUNS.

SHAUNS is currently working with clinics in Ecuador and Honduras to provide relief and better vision to individuals in need. SHAUNS founder, Shaun Paterson, says “It’s a significant issue that we hope we can address one pair of glasses at a time.”
