Leica M-P 240 Safari Edition
Though it features the same technical specifications as the M-P 240, the limited-production ‘SAFARI’ camera from Leica wasn’t built for blending in. The M-P (Typ 240) includes olive green coloring on the body, a Leica Summicron-M 35mm/f2 lens with metal hood, cowhide SD and business card holder, and a matching full-grain carrying strap. It dates back to the 60s – with the Leica M1 ‘Olive’ – which was initially made specifically for military usage. Technical data of the camera and its lens are identical to other serial versions, but the ‘SAFARI’ set is limited to 1,500 units worldwide. It comes in a special presentation box and features the same 1960-inspired engraving on the top of the camera followed by ‘WETZLAR GERMANY’ below.
