Kate Moss by Peter Lindbergh

Vogue Italia turned a new leaf in honor of their January 2015 cover girl. The iconic, legendary Kate Moss appeared on the cover, Photoshop-free in a retro-styled black and white editorial. The photos, shot by Peter Lindbergh, are reminiscent of Kate’s breathtaking portraits from the 90s, but what makes them so important in this decade is the lack of Photoshop.

On the cover, Kate is minimally done up: little makeup and simple hair styling. It doesn’t sound like a completely original idea — to feature models and icons au naturale — but in an industry that makes its money bringing the impossible to life, it’s a far cry from the norm — and one women everywhere are celebrating.
