When you’ve been away from home for an extended period, returning to a sense of familiarity, shared experience, and comfort are most welcome. Such sentiments were expressed quite poignantly by the Icelandic band, Sigur Rós, as they embarked on an extensive tour of their native country, following an exhausting world tour. They chose to play a range of venues, from tiny factories to the largest concert ever seen in Iceland. Every concert was free of charge, as a show of gratitude from the band to their fellow countrymen. The entire experience was documented in their film, Heima, capturing the beautiful Icelandic landscape, people, and their substantial musical talents.
