After making a name for himself for his stunning portraiture of Victoria’s Secret models, Russell James is venturing into new territory. His 304-page book — with 170 color and duotone photos – ships in early October and includes images of some of the world’s most famous superstars and models.

Dubbed Angels – what else? – James’ dangerously revealing book celebrates everything there is to about the female form and includes nude (or semi-nude) black and white images of Rihanna, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Kendall Jenner, Adriana Lima and Gisele Bundchen as well as dozens of other well-known faces and bodies.

Sharing insight into his work, James told The Independent, “Over the past two decades I have had the good fortune to photograph may of the world’s most beautiful women, most of whom I met while working for Victoria’s Secret. Simply shooting a nude photograph is easy. However, accepting the trust of a woman to be at her most vulnerable, and delivering in return a tasteful photograph that she herself can admire is extremely hard.”

James’ images have also been featured in Vogue, W, Sports Illustrated and Victoria’s Secret. And in addition to the book – which you can preorder here — an exhibition in Florida will also display the photographer’s most breathtaking images.
